One of Coffs Harbours most amazing attractions is the award winning Coffs Harbour Butterfly House, Maze and Tearooms. Walk amongst the beauty and diversity of Australias vast range of butterflies in an indoor subtropical rainforest setting.
Coffs Harbour Butterfly House offers visitors the opportunity to stroll in tranquil surroundings amongst hundreds of live Australian butterflies.
What a wonderful place to learn!! You can discover the secrets of the life cycle of the butterfly, search for well hidden eggs, caterpillars and pupae and witness the miracle of metamorphosis. You may even have the opportunity to experience the emergence of a brand new butterfly, transforming a soggy insect into a display of brilliant colours. People have commented that this is one of the most amazing experiences they have ever seen.
On hand to help you understand this miracle of nature will be one of our educators who will show you all parts of this amazing process and answer questions regarding butterflies in general and also questions about attracting butterflies to your own garden.
One of the most exciting experiences available to you when you visit the Butterfly House is the joy of having one of these gentle creatures land on you. Wearing bright colours increases the chance of this happening. Bring your camera along to record this fantastic experience.
The Butterfly House is open 9am to 4pm, seven days a week except in NSW school terms when we are closed on Mondays. Admission charges apply.
After enjoying the wonders of The Butterfly House, try your skills in the outdoor maze within a maze. It will provide endless fun for the whole family as you hunt for butterfly information and then try to solve the four levels of difficulty in the colour maze.
While visiting this attraction you can take time to relax in the peaceful tearooms and delight in a tasteful meal, snack or drink all made on the premises.
