In 2004, after playing together with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, violinist Susan Collins and cellist Sue-Ellen Paulsen, decided to work together as a duo. In 2005 the duo performed in ABC Classic FM’s Sunday Live series broadcast nationally.
Following this success, the duo approached pianist Duncan Gifford to form a trio. In 2006, the trio performed recitals in Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle, and recorded a program for Classic FM. Its repertoire includes works by Mozart, Schumann and Shostakovich, as well as Australian composers Dunleavy, Schultz and Kats-Chernin.
